Marcillac is a tiny obscure appellation near Clairvaux in Aveyron comprising some eight growers. The wines here are made exclusively from the Mansois grape, otherwise known as Fer or Fer Servadou in Gaillac.
Domaine du Cros is a 30 hectare estate within Marcillac, run by Phillipe and Julien Teulier. They grow mainly Fer Savadou, with a bit of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Whilst not a "natural" winery, they strongly guard traditional wine making and local grape varieties of the area. Their vines, even for the basic cuvée are a minimum of 25 years old.
