The cascina is Paolo Malfatti, a Piemonte native who planted his vines on previously unused land in Monferrato in the late 90's.  All of the grapes for this wine come from Paolo’s small estate in Piemonte. Barbera makes up 2.5 of his 4 hectares of vines. In this picturesque corner of Italy's Northwest, vines grow alongside organic hazelnuts and wild plants.  Bottling's are always in small quantities so each vintage never hangs around long.
