'La Cueva' | 2021

'La Cueva' is a collaboration between Les Caves de Pyrene and Luca Hodgkinson (Metic) presenting as Inacayal. The idea behind this project is to create excellent value wines, as naturally as possible, that faithfully reflect the place they come from.

The vineyards are in an area known as ‘La Cueva del Leon’ (The Lion’s Cave) where there is a legend that says a lion once hid there at night. País was the first grape ever introduced to Chile, and there are plenty of old vineyards of this grape. Unfortunately, it is wrongly considered by many to produce low quality wine and nobody is now planting it.
